Rentals and Events

Located in a historic building in the vibrant heart of downtown Boulder, the Boulder Shambhala Center is the elegant host to many diverse gatherings. The building includes five beautiful spaces available for meetings, workshops, parties, weddings, funerals, and other events. Each room offers unique attributes and functionality for your next gathering.

Individuals and businesses can rent meeting spaces ranging from a sunlit boardroom to large communal spaces. Amenities include cushioned chairs, WiFi, and screens for presentations. You can also conduct workshops with our meditation cushions or bring in yoga mats!

We offer discounts on meditation instruction or workshop mediation for your event and discounts for community members and non-profit organizations. Coffee and tea service is available, and it is convenient to cater in meals.

Rentals are available between 9am and 9pm all weekdays and weekends, working around other scheduled programming. For room availability and pricing, contact the Office of Community Outreach at 303.444.0190 x106 or community@boulder.shambhala.org.

Available Spaces

The Main Shrine Room makes up the entire third floor of the building and holds 250–300 people. This enchanting space is excellent for weddings, funerals, meditation, yoga, retreats and conferences. It has its own post-meditation hall, or foyer.

The Shambhala Training Hall is an elegant, sunlit space on the second floor, overlooking Spruce Street. It frequently hosts meditation, yoga, workshops and weddings. This room comfortably accommodates 60 people and has its own post-meditation hall, or foyer.

The Community Room is a versatile space on the ground floor with its own outside entrance, including a wheelchair-accessible ramp. Gatherings here often spill into the hallway and, in nice weather, outside. This room comfortably holds 70 people.

The Boardroom/Library on the ground floor comfortably hosts 15 people. It is ideal for business meetings, group discussions, and breakout gatherings.

The Auxiliary Shrine Room holds small gatherings of 15–20 people for meditation, healing arts workshops, trainings, and breakout groups. It is in the basement, which it shares with a second shrine room and the Shambhala Credit Union.

WEDDINGS
Contact the Office of Community Outreach to help shape your special event! Here are some questions to consider as you plan:

  • What kind of ceremony would you like to have?
  • Do you have a preceptor (officiant) in mind?
  • Would you like to set up and prepare the space or would you like to have the Center help staff this?
  • Where would you like the ceremony? Both of our meditation halls have held many weddings!
  • Would you like to have a reception at the Center?

FUNERALS
We offer Buddhist and Shambhala funeral ceremonies as well as receptions and assistance in finding a funeral preceptor. Contact the Office of Community Outreach for more details: 303.444.0190 x106 or community@boulder.shambhala.org.
