Public Meditation Practice

Public meditation practice takes place every day of the week except Saturday.

Open meditation practice (no instruction)
Monday–Friday: 12–1pm and 5:30–6:30pm
Sunday: 9am–12pm
In addition, the Main Shrine Room* is usually open to the public 12–6:30pm for meditation.

Sunday Morning Meditation
9am–12pm

The first Sunday of every month we offer Shambhala Sun Day, 11am–1pm, which includes a social.

All other Sunday mornings there are longer group sessions of sitting practice. During longer sessions, meditation alternates with brief periods of walking meditation, led by an experienced meditation student or instructor.

Additional chant practices:

  • Maitri Bhavana: Meditation practice for those that are critically ill.
    Second Sunday of every month as part of the Sunday morning meditation.
  • Sukhavati: A funeral ceremony for those who have recently died.
    Fourth Sunday of every month as part of the Sunday morning meditation.
