Become a Member of the Boulder Shambhala Center

Membership in the Boulder Shambhala Center is a way to express your personal appreciation for everything this center and Shambhala path offers to you and to help make it available for others.

As a non-profit organization, the Boulder Shambhala Center depends on the generosity and commitment of its over 200 dues-paying members. Without our community’s financial and volunteer support, we would not be able to offer all the wonderful programs, practice sessions, and events that we do. It is because of our members that this profound tradition of meditation is able to survive and flourish.

Membership in the center is open to everyone, regardless of nationality, race, ethnicity, gender, age, sexual orientation, physical or perceptual ability, income, or political, social or religious views and beliefs. See the instructions below to learn how to join, or you can contact us at [email protected] or 303-444-0190.

Membership Information

Membership at the Boulder Shambhala Center involves three areas of engagement and support:

Individual Practice

Shambhala members engage regularly in meditation and contemplative practice and strive to integrate their practice into everyday life. Regular practice is a key way for all of us to support our Shambhala community, our world, and ourselves.

Volunteer Service

Shambhala members offer volunteer service at the center according to their inspiration, talents and time. Volunteering puts our meditation into action and makes a vital contribution to our programs and events. Many of us have found that our volunteer service created our most meaningful social connections within Shambhala.

Providing Financial Support

Membership dues are the financial foundation of the Boulder Shambhala Center. The center relies on regular, recurring monthly dues to cover a significant portion of its operating costs and to help us budget responsibly. Giving is part of our practice of generosity.

Recommended Financial Contributions

Everyone is welcome to become a member, regardless of finances! If you would like to become a member of Boulder Shambhala and are working with limited financial resources, please email [email protected].

The Boulder Shambhala Center welcomes members to contribute monthly dues in any amount of their choice starting at $10 per individual. Some individuals and households give over $100 per month. The average monthly dues pledge per individual is $36.

Monthly dues can be paid by automatic bank withdrawal or credit card. (Note: Paying by credit card means that 3-5% of your donation goes to financial companies in fees.)

Please note that you can increase or decrease your monthly contributions at any time if your financial circumstances change.

All financial contributions to the center are tax deductible. Tax receipts are provided annually.
