Please join us for a study/action group at Boulder Shambhala.
Do you start to feel crazy every time someone mentions climate change? There is an alternative.
In their book, Active Hope, How to Face the Mess We’re In without Going Crazy, authors Joanna Macy and Chris Johnstone invite us to join “a transition from a doomed economy of industrial growth to a life-sustaining society committed to the recovery of our world.”
They call this transition “The Great Turning.” They see it as ”the essential adventure of our time.”
Beginning August 18th and running for five sessions, our study-action book group will meet every other Sunday afternoon from 2-4pm, at the Boulder Shambhala Center. Please read pages 1-56 in preparation for discussion at our first meeting.
We are excited to host guest speaker Sherry Ellms (Associate Professor in Environmental Studies and Faculty Lead for the Joanna Macy Center at Naropa University) for an open talk and discussion at our final session on October 13th. The group will be facilitated by BSC members George Ramsey and Christine Lincoln.
