Path of Service

The Boulder Shambhala Center relies on the generous support of members and friends who volunteer their time and energy. From staffing Shambhala Training Levels, volunteering at cultural events or assuming a Satellite Staff position to serving as a Meditation Instructor or teacher, the path of service offers something for everyone and forms an essential part of the Shambhala experience. Whether you’re a member or just want to be more involved, here are some of the many ways to join us!

Satellite Staff
Satellite staff are a core group of volunteers who serve BSC for six months at a time in contracted positions. They commit to working several hours a week in roles that are essential to the center’s day-to-day functioning. To recognize their service, they may attend various programs and events free of charge, including Way of Shambhala classes (+ materials fee). They also receive program merit and discounts on various other programs.

Requirements: Satellite Staff must be dues-paying members of BSC and have completed Shambhala Training III.
Commitment: Satellite Staff members serve for six months and work with the Director of Membership and Service.

January & February Volunteer Opportunities

Hello dear BSC community friends,

Here are the January & February volunteer opportunities that welcome your support. On Saturday, January 18th, we will have a Volunteer Training and Appreciation Day!! Please join us to help create a cohesive and supportive volunteer community! Azia May, volunteer coordinator extraordinaire, will be leading this event.

Sunday Open House Hospitality is a wonderful way to meet new people who are curious about meditation and the Boulder Shambhala Center. Coming up this month, we have Joy in Everyday Life for newer students, and Feast of Dharmas for students who are curious about protector practice before the lunar new year. Some of this retreat is restricted to vajrayana practitioners, and some parts of it are open to all practitioners. We also have an opportunity to celebrate the Lunar New Year together on Shambhala Day, and again to wish Melanie a very big thank you and good luck in her new job with Shambhala International.

Please consider offering a hand to help make these excellent offerings below available for others.Whenever you volunteer you will be able to fully participate in the event, as well as work along-side some wonderful teachers and other great volunteers. Come deepen your practice, enjoy community and engage in meaningful conversations!

Please join us to enrich our community.
