The Boulder Shambhala Center is honored to be hosting Tana Yelpa and Tana Dungsey Rinpoche for the third time. BSC is looking forward to engaging in more timely, helpful, and rich teachings.
When asked what people should know about the November 2023 Vajrayana retreat weekend, Rinpoche responded, “It is very advisable for anyone wishing to practice Vajrayana to train well in development stage practices.”
The Vajrayana student who engages in Development Stage Practices learns to be accomplished in the symbols and experiential insights common to all sadhana practices. As a result, Sadhana practice becomes easier and more natural. A student seasoned in development stage practices will be more open to the spontaneous experiences that arise in completion stage practices and approach them with more clarity and appreciation. In that way, especially for some students, Completion Stage practices may not separate from Development Stage Practices.
Rinpoche will also focus on ways in which students who are more centered on Completion stage practices, might enhance and catalyze their practices.
We are very fortunate that Tana Dungsey Rinpoche, a special lineage holder and highly accomplished teacher, is offering this Vajrayana Development and Completion stages retreat.
Development Stage Practices produce greater clarity and openness to the spontaneous experiences that arise in the Completion Stage practices.
