The teachings on Inseparable Union lift the veil on all polarities, including gender, politics, and social movements. Large and small, local and global: polarities feed our daily experiences of hope and fear. By recognizing and resisting the cultural vortex of echo chambers, we can return again and again to the neutral ground of one’s innate nature, free from extremes.

Our community has experienced its share of incredible chaos and change, bringing groundlessness and the regrettable taste of penetrating bias. Co-existing with the pain and turmoil, are the generous and loving outpourings of care, support, and warm connections within our community. To help us move forward individually and collectively, we’d like to offer a fresh look and approach to our dharmic journeys.

I have heard a tremendous yearning to bring forward the teachings on the feminine and masculine principles, which are beyond gender—yet include the infinite spectrum of gender labels and experiences. We’ll use a mapping system to understand the binary dynamics of the feminine and masculine principles, in their most basic qualities, their unbalanced, neurotic displays and the complementary flow and magic of the principles in union. Seen from a wisdom perspective of inseparability, these principles remarkably are applicable to all relative, binary truths.

These teachings are primarily based on the Vidyadhara Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche’s Glimpses of the Profound, The Future is Open: Good Karma, Bad Karma, and Beyond Karma, as well as traditional and modern approaches. Through talks, discussions, word mapping, creative process, and embodiment exercises, we hope to add clarity and illumination to these profound yet deeply personal principles.

For 20 years, Erika Berland and I have collaborated on these teachings, weaving together conceptual understanding with non-conceptual experience. With genuine inspiration and excitement, we warmly invite you to this dance of inseparable union.

After you register, we’ll provide a selection of readings of supporting materials in preparation for the program.
