Our next gathering for "Conversations that Matter: Creating a Community of Care" is Wednesday, May 30th at 7pm at the Boulder Shambhala Center, with hosts Acharya Holly Gayley and Hannah Kinderlehrer.

Please come and share your questions, concerns, and perspectives about addressing power and privilege, healing from past harms, and fostering care and kindness in our community. This is the fourth in our series of six conversations. The remaining two conversations are Saturday, June 30th, at 2pm and Saturday, August 4th, tentatively scheduled from 10am to 2pm.

At our last conversation, we began exploring various causes that can lead to misconduct and harm—whether sexual, gender, or racial. We talked about how critical it is to offer timely feedback and set boundaries, even when it’s awkward. And we contemplated how our teachings can inform the way we communicate with each other, allowing for greater connection and protection. Our conversation hosts will continue to open the space for sharing personal experiences of harm in Shambhala, providing the rest of us with an opportunity to listen deeply, and we will continue to explore how we move forward.

We invite the whole range of voices to join in: younger and older, newer and longtime participants in our community, people of color, LGBTQ members, and all friends. These conversations are offered to create space for conversation and collective inquiry. How we go forward and become the community of caring and respect that we long to be will take all of us.
