In these challenging times, the flame of basic goodness has nearly been extinguished by the storm of concepts, and the spirit of humanity has been so dampened that we experience our goodness as a faint echo. As brave people, we must find the courage to gently blow on this ember of goodness.
—Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche

Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche, the lineage holder of Shambhala, has developed a simple yet profound teaching, practice, and transmission called “Shambhala Meditation." In this public program, Acharya Dale Asrael will present the essence of awareness through the three gestures of Shambhala Meditation. The heart of the program will be the transmission of this practice.

Shambhala Meditation reveals the unconditional quality of our own innate nature to relieve the stress, suffering, and aggression of our times. This practice can only be transmitted through teachers personally authorized by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche. Acharya Dale Asrael is the lead teacher of Shambhala Meditation, and is known for both her warmth and clarity.

About Shambhala Meditation
Shambhala Meditation is a specific meditation practice that originated with Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche in December 2011. While receiving a series of elaborate tantric teachings in Pharping, Nepal, the Sakyong had a strong experience of the need for humanity to connect to its own worthiness. Reflecting on how his father, Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, had expressed to him the essence of meditation, Shambhala Meditation arose in his mind as a vision that expresses the heart of the Shambhala message: feeling worthy to be, and touching our basic goodness. The entire vision of Shambhala can be experienced in this simple yet profound practice.

Open to all levels of practice. No prior meditation experience is required.

Shambhala Vajrayana Practitioners: On Sunday afternoon, Acharya Asrael will meet with vajrayana students and talk about the relation of Shambhala Meditation to vajrayana practice.
