Shambhala Sun Day
The head of the Shambhala community, Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche, has said again and again that the core messages of Shambhala teachings are acknowledging basic goodness and creating enlightened society. The Sakyong has also encouraged the Shambhala Centers to make our offerings “more like life, less like school”.
Inspired by the this, the Boulder Shambhala Center is pleased to offer a gathering for the community of warriors to connect with basic goodness, and celebrate our society – the Shambhala Sun Day. Everyone is welcome, whether it is your first time in a Shambhala shrine room or whether you have been practicing for years. Please join the community!
The first aspect of the Shambhala Sun Day, which lasts at most an hour, includes meditation, a short talk, discussion, and some teachings and activities that are appropriate for children. The second aspect is a social with tea, coffee, food, and good company.
