Public Meditation Practice
Public meditation practice takes place every day of the week except Saturday.
The Main Shrine Room* is open to the public for sitting meditation practice:
Monday – Friday:
Open meditation practice: 12 noon – 5:30 pm
Meditation practice and closing chants: 5:30 – 6:30 pm
Sunday Morning Meditation
9 am – 12 noon
The first Sunday morning of every month we offer Shambhala Sun Day from 10:30-11:30am, followed by a social from 11:30-12:30pm.
All other Sunday mornings there are longer group session of sitting practice. During longer sessions, meditation alternates with brief periods of walking meditation, led by an experienced meditation student or instructor.
Additional chant practices:
- Maitri Bhavana – Meditation practice for those that are critically ill.
Second Sunday of every month as part of the Sunday morning meditation.
- Sukhavati – A Sukhavati is a funeral ceremony for those who have recently died.
Fourth Sunday of every month as part of the Sunday morning meditation.
